Terms of Service

Effective date: September 9, 2026 (summonfx.com edition); October 4, 2026 (aescripts.com edition)

What Summon is

Summon is a paid extension (panel) for Adobe After Effects that connects to AI generation services provided by fal.ai, using an API key that belongs to you. Summon is operated by Ohad Dadon ("we", "us"), reachable at support@summonfx.com.

The aescripts.com edition

Summon is also sold on aescripts.com as a separate edition. This section applies to everyone who uses the aescripts.com edition, including during its trial. We grant you a non-exclusive license to use that edition, subject to these terms and to aescripts.com's applicable licensing terms. aescripts.com handles purchases, activation, the trial and refunds under its own terms. The sections Your license, Free trial and Payments below apply only to the summonfx.com edition; all other sections apply to both editions. References to our license server do not apply to the aescripts.com edition, and where these terms allow suspension or revocation of a license, we may ask aescripts.com to carry it out.

Your license

When you buy a Summon license you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the software on up to 2 computers that you use. The license is per person, not per company; team licensing is available on request. Paid licenses are tied to the purchaser's email address, and activations on up to 2 computers are recorded on our license server.

Free trial

Every installation starts a 7-day free trial with the full feature set. No Summon account and no payment details are required. After the trial, a license is required. Trials have no license key and are not subject to our license revocation; a paid license can be suspended or revoked as described in these terms.

Your fal.ai account

Summon connects to fal.ai using your own API key. Generation usage is billed by fal.ai to you directly, at fal.ai's prices, under fal.ai's own terms of service. We add no markup, resell no compute, and are not a party to your relationship with fal.ai. AI model availability, quality, pricing and output content are controlled by fal.ai and the model providers, not by us.

Your content and other people's rights

You are responsible for everything you upload to, process with, or generate through Summon: images, video, audio, text and prompts ("your content"). By using your content with Summon you confirm all of the following:

These obligations apply to every model or endpoint you use through Summon, whether it is built in or added by you through the Model Manager. Summon does not moderate prompts or outputs itself; any safety filtering is applied by fal.ai or the model provider and varies by model. We maintain no endpoint allowlist or blocklist.

Reporting misuse

If you believe Summon is being used in breach of these terms, write to support@summonfx.com with what you have seen and, if you know it, the license or purchase involved. We review misuse reports manually, may ask you for more detail, and use our purchase, license and activation records to identify a license where the evidence allows. We may suspend or revoke a paid license for a substantiated breach and may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities. Revocation happens on our license server; an already-activated installation re-checks its license on a refresh cycle with a short grace period, so access may not stop immediately. Because your content never passes through our servers, we cannot inspect generations or retrieve a customer's generation history.

Summon sends your content from your computer directly to fal.ai using your own fal.ai account and API key. We do not receive or store that content through Summon. Summon provides no gallery or feed, and we have no access to your generation history. Processing by fal.ai and the model providers is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We grant no rights in generated output and make no promise that output is free of third-party claims.

You are responsible for your content and your use of outputs. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you will reimburse us for reasonable losses and costs directly caused by your breach of this section, excluding losses caused by our own breach, negligence or misconduct. We may suspend or terminate a license for a material breach of this section, with notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy it where appropriate, subject to applicable law.

Acceptable use

You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense or share your license key or the software, or attempt to circumvent the license mechanism. You are responsible for the content you generate and for complying with the laws that apply to you and with fal.ai's usage policies.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Freemius, our merchant of record, which handles payment, applicable taxes and invoicing under its own terms and privacy policy. Refunds are handled per our refund policy.

Warranty and liability

Summon is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it compatible with After Effects and fal.ai, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation of software that depends on third-party applications and services. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for generation costs billed by fal.ai, or for indirect or consequential damages.

Termination

We may revoke a license that is used in violation of these terms (for example, a shared or resold license key). You may stop using Summon at any time; subscription cancellation stops future charges.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Israeli law governs these terms.
